Front Garden Wildlife Pond

Another front garden that would otherwise just have been another unexploited space. The client is very passionate about wildlife and so I designed and built an elevated wildlife pond surrounded by native pond and wetland plants. The elevated sides were retained by local sandstone and the plants topped with locally sourced wood mulch to help keep moisture in the high summer months. It is always remarkable just how fast wildlife find a new pond, from water boatmen to frogs and a Great Crested Newt! With the continued destruction of many of our country's ponds and wetlands I would encourage anyone to add a pond no matter how large or small to their space.
